Paul Marcus

After graduating from Oxford University, Paul spent 10 successful years as a theatre director working at such centres of prestige as the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Young Vic, The Roundhouse, as well as many leading repertory companies both in the UK and America. The range of those productions covered everything from Shakespeare to Harold Pinter, as well as several new musicals and plays.

Joining the BBC as a Script Editor, Paul then worked extensively with award winning Producer Louis Marks ("Silas Marner", "Pride and Prejudice") before becoming a Producer himself. Three seasons of the highly-acclaimed "Prime Suspect" starring Helen Mirren followed, along with two TV movies and several more TV series variously starring John Thaw, Michael Gambon, Tim Roth and Emma Thompson. In all, Paul has won 2 Primetime Emmys and a BAFTA and numerous other major awards and further nominations.

Switching back to his first love, directing, Paul has directed 3 feature films, a big-budget Roman mini-series and no less than 7 TV movies or two-parters, as well as hourly episodes. Amongst the star names he has worked with are Kiefer Sutherland, Bridget Fonda, Max Von Sydow, John Simm and Geraldine Chaplin.
